System Engineer

The digital world doesn’t stand still, which is why ECS is looking for a System Engineer with a passion for the Microsoft ecosystem and an interest in cybersecurity. As a System Engineer you will join a team of 4 colleagues who work on projects, innovations, research and support in the field of systems, networks and security on a daily basis. ECS highly values innovation, digitalization and security and is therefore focused on offering strong services to its users in this area.

Are you...

  • someone who already has experience implementing, managing and deploying Microsoft solutions, both on-premise and cloud solutions?
  • interested in the security challenges posed by today's digital times?
  • a generalist team player who enjoys learning from fellow System Engineers and sharing experiences with them to make the team and our infrastructure better every day?

Job Content

  • You are active as a system administrator and you are at home in the following areas:
    • AD (User and Group management, GPO management, ...)
    • AAD - AD connect - Azure
    • Certificates (PKI) (both in-house PKI and public certificates)
    • Windows server (File Server, DFS, group managed service accounts, ...)
    • Powershell
    • Security mindset
    • Experience with automation is a plus
    • Knowledge of Citrix is a plus
  • You will combine strong analytical skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Although a broad knowledge of networks and systems is required, you will have the opportunity to go deeper into certain technologies and become a specialist in them within the department - specifically the Microsoft stack and security operations.
  • You will work independently or in team on small and large projects within the domain of computer and network infrastructure. Some examples: InTune rollouts, Microsoft Teams telephony, (Azure) server administration, network security, firewall policies, MFA, ...
  • Security operations do not scare you or you want to learn everything about it: follow up and eliminate vulnerabilities, follow up security incidents, protect and update PCs and servers so that only approved software can be installed, continuously improve domain security, monthly baseline updates (endpoints & servers) ...
  • You are interested in following trends, both in the field of Microsoft technology and architecture, as well as in the field of Security operations; you are not afraid to autonomously try out how these trends can be translated into value for ECS and to become a discussion partner with our Systems Architect and Security Manager respectively.
  • You have a "first time right!" mentality and are keen to deliver your tasks right the first time, both in terms of technology and in terms of explanation and training to the colleagues you work closely with (service desk & system engineers).
  • You report to the Systems Architect and coordinate with him around planning, priorities and operational tasks.
  • You have the ambition to improve yourself every day, both in terms of technical skills and people-orientation. You can of course count on the support and explanation of your colleagues.
  • You like to share your knowledge with our Service Desk team, so that daily and regularly recurring tasks can be taken over by them, with or without the help of automation.
  • After an induction period, you will rotate into the standby service, where you will be on standby 1 weekend every 5 and 1 day per week.
  • About once a month on a Sunday (date agreed priorly),  systems or the network will be maintained or worked on. Your presence is desired.

Profile:

  • You have an IT-oriented education or on-the-job experience, with first experience in the field of Microsoft stack. Experience in security operations is a plus.
  • You do not only want to solve problems, but also offer good service.
  • You can keep a cool head when stressful moments occur.
