Description

As a Technical Manager Automation, you are the driving force behind a high‑performing and future‑oriented warehouse. You combine technical expertise with strong leadership, ensuring that our automation systems remain reliable, efficient, and continuously evolving. You blend technical know‑how with people management and actively contribute to the automation strategy of our warehouse environment.

Your role & responsibilities

  • You lead the automation team of 17 people and are responsible for daily coordination, coaching, and the further development of your team members
  • You analyze KPIs (including availability, reliability, and performance) and translate them into targeted improvement actions within warehouse operations and automation systems
  • You monitor the operational performance of the automation systems and ensure optimal availability by defining and following up on preventive and corrective actions
  • You develop and maintain a long‑term asset plan to safeguard continuity, reliability, and further automation of the warehouse environment
  • You act as technical lead and/or project manager in technical CAPEX projects, from analysis and scoping to implementation and aftercare
  • You manage the automation budgets and monitor investments, costs, and priorities based on operational needs and strategic choices
  • You gather and analyze information from various sources (shop floor, systems, stakeholders) and translate this into concrete actions and sustainable long‑term solutions
  • You work closely with internal stakeholders (operations, IT, facilities, etc.) and align actions and priorities in line with overall warehouse operations

  • Full‑time position
  • Day shifts – flexibility is expected when operational needs require it

Profile

Your profile & qualities

  • You have a strong technical mindset combined with a strategic outlook
  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, or have equivalent experience
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • You are analytically strong and able to work with fragmented information
  • You combine people management with technical expertise
  • You communicate clearly and can convince and engage stakeholders
  • Knowledge of WMS is an asset
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English; knowledge of French is a plus
