Customs Officer

You will join the Customs team. Together with your colleagues, you ensure that customs formalities are handled smoothly, accurately and in full compliance with regulations. Thanks to your efforts, goods can cross borders without any concerns.

Your role & responsibilities

• You verify whether the information provided by customers is complete and correct, enabling the accurate preparation of customs declarations and documents.
• You prepare customs declarations for Belgium and the United Kingdom in the relevant software system and follow up on their release.
• You identify errors or discrepancies in master data and customs declarations and ensure they are corrected in a timely and accurate manner. You also report these irregularities clearly to your supervisor.
• You monitor both manual and automated processes and intervene where necessary to ensure smooth operations.
• You safeguard the quality of customs data by performing targeted checks, with a strong focus on accuracy and reliability.
• You apply the appropriate emergency procedures when exceptional situations arise.
• You maintain good relationships with customs authorities and communicate clearly and professionally with customers.

Schedule

• Day shift with variable working hours between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
